A Tunisian-Turkish Business Forum will be held on June 5, 2024 in Istanbul (Turkey), at the initiative of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) and the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK), in collaboration with all the member structures of the Tunisia Export Team, according to the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX).
The event is intended to enhance complementarity and economic partnership with Turkey, while focusing on ways of stepping up Turkish investment in Tunisia in various fields of activity.
The partnership meetings that will be organized during the forum will offer a real opportunity to encourage Turkish economic operators to forge win-win partnerships with Tunisian companies and to draw on Turkey's experience in developing international value chains.
The sectors targeted by this mission are mainly agri-food, mechanical and electrical industries, construction materials, textiles and clothing, leather and footwear, etc.
The Ministry of Trade and Export Development and its Turkish counterpart signed, on December 3, 2023 in Istanbul, a decision by the Tunisian-Turkish Partnership Council which provides for reviewing the free trade agreement, including three main measures; notably to draw up a list of agricultural and industrial products, the encouragement of Turkish investment in Tunisia and the organization of a Tunisian-Turkish Business Forum to help Turkish economic operators familiarize with investment opportunities and projects in Tunisia.
