The CONECT International organization had significant activity in January 2024, focusing on initiatives to boost mutual investments between Tunisia and its partners across various continents and facilitating Tunisian companies' access to new and promising markets.
As part of the economic mission organized by CONECT International in collaboration with the United States Embassy in Tunisia at the CES Las Vegas 2024 exhibition, which ran from January 9, 2024, to January 12 of the same month, the Tunisian delegation participated in networking and "Meet & Greets" sessions with international buyers and investors from over 40 countries. Several successful partnerships were negotiated, and numerous agreements were reached. Additionally, exchanges of visits between the Tunisian delegation and delegations from various participating countries at the exhibition were agreed upon.
Recently, Tarek Cherif, the President of CONECT International, met with the Ambassador of Tunisia to Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, and Sierra Leone, Mohsen Ounis, to discuss facilitating Tunisian companies' access to African markets.
The meeting, attended by CONECT International’s CEO, Aslan Ben Rajeb, focused on activating economic diplomacy and CONECT International’s anticipated program in organizing economic missions to countries represented by the Tunisian Ambassador. These countries are growth poles on the African continent experiencing significant investment activity.
CONECT International aims to ensure Tunisia secures a substantial share in these opportunities. Discussions included available investment opportunities for Tunisian institutions in these countries, strategies to enhance exchanges, and intensify Tunisian exports to them.
Furthermore, CONECT International is preparing to organize a Tunisian economic mission to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, starting from February 25, 2024, as part of its commitment to facilitating Tunisian investors' access to foreign markets and enabling them to establish profitable partnerships. CONECT International will particularly focus on providing opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises seeking access to international markets, including Gulf markets. It will facilitate meetings between these important Tunisian institutions and their counterparts from Gulf countries, along with economic decision-makers, to explore partnership opportunities and trade exchanges between Tunisian and Gulf companies in general.
The Tunisian delegation will comprise approximately forty economic actors from various sectors, including information technology, construction and building materials, consulting, international trade, among others.
The mission's agenda will include holding the Tunisian-Saudi Economic Forum to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the investment field, as well as meetings with Saudi businessmen to encourage them to invest in Tunisia.
Additionally, the mission will include a visit to the largest trade exhibitions in Riyadh, starting with the construction and building exhibition, which will host more than 50 countries and approximately 1,100 exhibitors offering about a thousand services and products in the sector.
The exhibition will provide an opportunity to introduce Tunisian companies operating in this field to over 55,000 visitors eager to learn about the latest developments in construction and urban development.
CONECT International will also enable Tunisian companies to participate in a significant technology exhibition in Riyadh, expected to be attended by more than 450 startups and a thousand exhibitors, with an estimated 172,000 visitors.
