July 1-2: Tunisia-Burkina Faso Joint Commission took place in Ouagadougou

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, led the Tunisian delegation to the 8th Session of the Tunisia-Burkina Faso Joint Commission, scheduled in Ouagadougou on July 1 and 2.

During this visit, the Tunisian Foreign Minister, Nabil Ammar, met with Burkinabe Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré. They praised the strong bilateral cooperation since 1964 and discussed various initiatives, including opening the Tunisian embassy in Ouagadougou, appointing a resident ambassador, abolishing entry visas, and establishing a direct air link between the capitals, stated the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.

Ammar emphasized Tunisia's respect for Burkina Faso's sovereignty and rejected external interference in internal affairs. He expressed Tunisia's commitment to supporting Burkina Faso in education, vocational training, health, communication technologies, and public works.

He also highlighted the importance of developing trade exchanges, resuming medical evacuation cooperation, and intensifying visits between senior officials.

Both ministers discussed the fight against terrorism, with Tunisia offering military training support. They also addressed irregular migration and agreed to coordinate on the issue. Additionally, they shared views on international and regional matters, particularly the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, with Ammar reaffirming Tunisia's support for Palestinian rights and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
