The Presidency of the Republic of Tunisia stated that yesterday, February 01, 2023, the President Kaïs Saïed, received, at Carthage Palace, the President of the Arab Tourism Organization (ATO), Bandar bin Fahd Al Fahid.

During this meeting, the Tunisian President has called for diversifying tourism activities in Tunisia, which should not be limited to seaside tourism but also target the cultural and health sectors, besides event tourism.

The Head of State also focused on a number of projects that can be achieved in Tunisia, such as the international center of calligraphy arts and the Al Aghaliba medical city project in the governorate of Kairouan, in addition to tourism projects developed by young Tunisians.

Besides the meeting discussed projects in the field of ecological tourism, including that of the tourist area of Faj El Atlal in Ain Draham, which covers 56 hectares.

The President Saied stressed the possibility of implementing similar projects in Zaghouan and Korbous, as well as in other regions of Tunisia.

The president of the ATO presented to the Head of State with the organization's premium class medal.
