The Tunisian Head of Government, Kamal Maddouri, received the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Tunisia, Wan Li, yesterday, Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Government Palace in Kasbah.
The meeting focused on Tunisia's participation in the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, scheduled to take place in Beijing from September 4 to 6, 2024, stated the Tunisian Government.
The forum will bring together African heads of state and government under the theme: "Solidarity for Modernization and Building a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future."
The Head of Government praised the distinguished relations between the two countries, highlighting the momentum gained from the historic state visit by the President of Tunisia to China. He also emphasized the long-standing diplomatic ties between Tunisia and China, which date back to 1964, and expressed Tunisia's commitment to further developing these relations and seizing opportunities for cooperation, especially in the economic field, for the benefit of both nations and their peoples.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador conveyed the congratulations of the Chinese Premier to the Tunisian Head of Government on his recent appointment. The Ambassador also commended the level of cooperation between Tunisia and China, reaffirming his country’s readiness to continue joint efforts, enhance cooperation, and support its future prospects.
