The Tunisian Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Nayla Nouira, received yesterday, August 31, 2022, at the ministry headquarters the World Bank Vice President for Middle East and North Africa, Farid Belhaj, who was accompanied by a high-level delegation representing the World Bank Group, in the presence of a number of senior officials of the ministry.

This meeting was devoted to following up the existing cooperation between the Ministry and the World Bank on the work program in the coming period, especially in the energy and renewable energies sectors, and how to support the electrical interconnection project between Tunisia and Italy and the financing of the Tunisian side, with reference to the advantages of this project on the economic and technical level.

The Tunisian Minister stressed the importance of completing this project due to its strategic dimension, which will enable the exchange of electric energy between countries and support the national electricity transmission network.
