The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad stated that the Minister Mr. Othman Jerandi received, yesterday, August 31, 2022, at the ministry headquarters, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama, Mrs. Erika Mouynes, who was on a visite to Tunisia from August 28 to 31, 2022, to participate in a forum on "Gendering in the sustainable development". 

The meeting represented an occasion in which the two sides reviewed the friendly relations between Tunisia and Panama and ways to establish bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest.

From her part, Mrs. Erika Mouynes expressed her country's aspiration to advance cooperation with Tunisia, praising the important and pioneering gains made by Tunisian women, who represent a role model, highlighting the importance of creating a space for open dialogue between African and Latin American countries on the role of women in promoting sustainable development.

On the other hand, the two ministers exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues, including the food and energy crisis that has intensified due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the situation in Ukraine, where the need to develop the United Nations system and strengthen multilateral action in order to find joint and effective solutions was emphasized.
