Tunisia's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mounir Ben Rjiba, participated in the High-Level Ministerial Conference on Migration in Copenhagen on May 6, 2024.

The conference addressed global migration challenges and strategies for international cooperation, focusing on legal migration and combating irregular migration, particularly in the Mediterranean region.

Ben Rjiba highlighted Tunisia's migration approach and partnerships with Mediterranean countries, emphasizing the need for comprehensive solutions addressing root causes and youth employment. He also stressed Tunisia's efforts in rescuing migrants and its refusal to host irregular migrant platforms or assume border control beyond its borders. Bilateral meetings with EU member states and the International Center for Migration Policy Development explored avenues for cooperation across various areas.
