The Ministry of National Defense in Tunisia stated that the Minister, Mr. Imed Memmish, received yesterday, January 26, 2023, at the headquarters of the ministry, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Tunisia, Mr. Javier Puig Saura.

This meeting was an occasion to talk about the Military cooperation between the two countries.

The two officials reviewed also the "historical friendship relations binding the two countries", stressing the need to strengthen cooperation in the military field.

Besides, the Tunisian Minister highlighted the Tunisian-Spanish cooperation in the fields of training, education and experience sharing, and stressed the need to develop it further in order to promote the operational capabilities of the military institution, both in the framework of bilateral cooperation and the 5+5 Defense Initiative.

For his part, the Spanish Ambassador expressed his country's willingness to support the Tunisian armed forces, particularly in the areas mentioned.
