Tunisian and French Presidents discuss illegal migration

Yesterday evening, a phone call took place between the President of the Tunisian Republic, Kais Saied, and the French President, Emmanuel Macron, according to a statement by the Tunisian Presidency.

During the call, several topics were discussed, including the bilateral relations between the two countries, Tunisia's relationship with the European Union, and the rapid changes witnessed in the world today.

The discussion also touched on the waves of illegal migration that are worsening day by day. The President Saied explained that the influx of irregular migrants from south of the Sahara into Tunisia today is abnormal. Efforts must be combined to dismantle the criminal networks behind these situations, networks that traffic in humans and their organs, pouring money into these irregular migrants whom Tunisia did not cause to be poor or destitute. Tunisia does not accept them to settle there, which is unacceptable and suspicious, according to the same source.

Among the most important topics extensively discussed was the genocide being inflicted upon the Palestinian people and the urgent need to immediately halt this war.

In this context, the Tunisian President pointed out that humanity today has surpassed the international community, and that international legitimacy is no longer legitimate for humanity as a whole.
