The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, had a phone conversation today, June 18, 2024, with his Portuguese counterpart, Paulo Rangel.
This discussion emphasized the strong friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and Portugal, reaffirming their mutual commitment to further strengthening these ties, according to the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.
They aim to achieve this by increasing the frequency of high-level visits and organizing upcoming bilateral events, including the 5th session of the high-level meeting between the two nations.
The two Ministers commended the close collaboration between their countries on the multilateral stage and agreed to enhance joint efforts and coordination within European Union institutions and international organizations.
They also addressed the dire humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In this context, Minister Ammar reiterated Tunisia’s support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the necessity to end the genocide against the defenseless Palestinian people and ensure they regain all their legitimate rights.
