Tunisian President met with the Chinese PM in Beijing

China is ready to create new cooperation opportunities with Tunisia on a bilateral basis or as part of initiatives launched by China, said the Chinese Prime Minister, Li Qiang,

During his meeting with the Tunisian President, Kais Saied, today in Beijing, according to a statement by the Tunisian Presidency.

China is committed to pursuing development projects in Tunisia and is encouraging Chinese companies to invest in the country, he added.

The Chinese Prime Minister further indicated that his country seeks to strengthen trade between both countries, promote Tunisian exports to the Chinese market and open a direct airline service between both countries.

For his part, the President Saied voiced willingness to step up collaboration in a bid to explore new cooperation opportunities and forge strategic partnerships as soon as possible in high-priority sectors including health, rail transport and tourism.

The long-standing friendship and cooperation relations between Tunisia and China and ways to strengthen them in the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples, were also discussed during this meeting, added the Tunisian Presidency.
