The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, participated this evening, October 11, 2023, in the work of the Arab League Council meeting in its extraordinary session, held in Cairo, regarding the continuing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, according to a statement by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.
The meeting discussed the grave violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces, the unprecedented military escalation targeting civilians, the brutal and systematic bombing of civilian buildings and institutions, and the blatant violation of international law that these attacks constitute.
In his speech, the Minister affirmed Tunisia's absolute support for the right of the Palestinian people to recover their stolen rights, noting their steadfastness in the face of the brutal Israeli aggression and their continuing struggles to liberate the Palestinian territories.
The Minister also held the Israeli occupation authorities responsible for the escalation and deterioration of the situation, the severity of which has worsened in light of the systematic blockage of any political horizon to find a just political settlement for the Palestinian issue, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities to put pressure on the occupation authorities to immediately stop this dangerous escalation and provide international protection for the defenseless Palestinian people.
At the conclusion of his speech, the Tunisian Foreign Minister stressed the need for the decisions emerging from the League’s meetings to be at the level of the historic and defining moment that the brotherly Palestinian people are experiencing, according to the same source.
