An environmental event, under the theme "clean-up Month" will be launched on August 14 in all Tunisian cities, the Tunisian Minister of Environment Leyla Chikhaoui said on Wednesday during a press conference held at the Ministry headquarters.
The event aims to encourage citizens, civil society and businesses to voluntarily join and promote cleanliness indicators in all Tunisian cities.
It will continue during the weekends of August 21, August 28 and September 4.
Plastic and light waste will be collected in all regions of the country, through the joint efforts of all parties and ministries concerned, the Minister said. The aim is to provide the necessary human and logistical framework to make the event a success.
The event will be based on the participation of citizens, individually, or in teams of 10 volunteers over the age of 18.
Representatives of locally active organizations such as the Scouts, the Red Crescent, as well as pupils, students and citizens are invited to take part in this event.
