European Union Ambassador to Tunisia, Marcus Cornaro, reaffirmed the Union's commitment to continue supporting Tunisia in the implementation of its reform programs and priority development projects, particularly in areas of mutual interest.
The Ambassador was speaking during a meeting with Minister of Economy and Planning, Feryel Ouerghi Sebai, on Friday afternoon.
These projects include food security, investment, employment, digitalization, research, innovation, support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and social protection, according to a statement by the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
For her part, Minister Sebai outlined the key areas of focus for the coming period, which fall within the government's development priorities. These include renewable energy, addressing the impact of climate change, particularly on food security and water resources management, improving the business and investment climate and reforming public institutions, as well as areas related to human development and social progress.
The Tunisian Minister expressed her satisfaction with the progress of cooperation at all levels, especially in the financial and technical fields, and looked forward to further strengthening and diversifying it in the next phase in the interest of both parties.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of cooperation in the current period and the work programs for the next phase, as both sides stressed the exceptional nature of the relations between Tunisia and the European Union, and the importance of the strategic partnership binding them.
