The Anadolu Agency (AA) reported that the Group of Seven (G7) , after their urgent meeting held in Brussels yesterday evening, affirmed their determination to implement the economic and financial sanctions imposed on Russia due to its war on Ukraine.
This came in the final statement issued by the summit of the leaders of the group, which also stated that close cooperation will be conducted with other countries to impose similar sanctions against Russia and to prevent practices aimed at reducing or mitigating the effects of the current sanctions.
The statement indicated that a group will be formed to monitor the full implementation of the sanctions, including monitoring gold transactions at the Central Bank of Russia.
The statement indicated that the summit called on Russia to withdraw all its soldiers and military equipment from the entire Ukrainian territory, adding that the leaders of the group strongly condemned "the devastating Russian attacks targeting public facilities and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine."
The leaders urged Russia to provide safe corridors for the exit of civilians from areas of armed clashes.
