The Iraqi News Agency reported that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani received today, Tuesday, January 30, 2024, an official invitation from his Tunisian counterpart, Ahmed Hashani, to visit Tunisia.
According to a statement from the Iraqi government, the Iraqi Prime Minister received the Tunisian Republic's Ambassador to Iraq, Chokri Ltaief, who handed him the official invitation.
The statement mentioned that during the meeting, discussions were held regarding the prospects for mutual cooperation between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance relations across various fields and sectors, in the interest of both the Iraqi and Tunisian peoples.
The Iraqi Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the invitation and committed to accepting it at the earliest opportunity, emphasizing the importance of mutual support in international forums and Tunisia's stance on the Palestinian issue, according to the same source.
Furthermore, the Iraqi Prime Minister reiterated the invitation to Tunisian companies to participate in projects, investment opportunities, and infrastructure development in Iraq, highlighting the importance of economic integration and the success of the upcoming Iraqi-Tunisian committee meetings in Baghdad.
