The Tunisian Cinematheque is organizing the Palestinian Film Days on October 31-November 5, 2023 at the Chedly Klibi Cultural City, as part of Tunisia's solidarity with the Palestinian people, according to a Cinematheque press release.
The program for these days dedicated to Palestinian filmmaking, which includes screenings and discussion sessions in the presence of several Palestinian filmmakers, includes a selection of seven films produced between 1988 and 2022 by illustrious Palestinian filmmakers: "Noces en Galilée" by Michel Khleifi (1988) "Gaza mon amour" by Tarzan and Arab Nasser (2020), "L'anniversaire de Leila" by Rachid Masharawi (2008), "Alam" by Firas Khouri (2022) "Writing on snow" by Rachid Masharawi (2017)," Jenin Jenin" by Mohammed Bakri (2002) and "Les Yeux du voleur" by Najwa Najjar (2014).
The organization of this event follows the cancellation by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the 34th edition of the Carthage Film Festival (JCC), scheduled for October 28-November 4, "as a token of solidarity with the Palestinian people and in view of the critical humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip and all the occupied Palestinian territories due to the brutal Zionist aggression."
