A telephone conversation took place this evening, Thursday, August 31, 2023, between the Interior Minister Kamal Feki and his Italian counterpart, Matteo Piantidozzi, stated the Tunisian Ministry of Interior.

The two sides review cooperation in the fields of the interior ministries, especially illegal migration and organized crime.

This phone call represented a new affirmation by both parties of the sincere to move forward on the path of consolidating these relations and elevating them to the highest level.

The efforts made by the Tunisian security units to support combatting irregular migration were also reviewed, according to the ministry.

The two ministers agreed to continue exchanging information in this regard in order to uncover the security agencies involved in the deportation of African travelers from sub-Saharan Africa and the Tunisian coasts to the European space.
