The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad stated that the Minister Mr. Nabil Ammar made, today, March 31, 2023, a telephone conversation with the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ms. Catherine Colonna, who renewed her congratulations to the Tunisian Minister on his appointment by the President of the Republic.

During this call, the two Ministers touched on the long-standing relations between the two countries and ways to further develop them in the light of the upcoming bilateral events.

The Tunisian Minister indicated that his country is ready for constructive and responsible dialogue with all its partners, including France, and counts on their understanding of the specificity of the stage it is going through, as it has engaged in an irreversible path to establish true democracy and more just and comprehensive development path that is in line with the aspirations of the Tunisian people, especially after the experience it went through during the past decade.

For her part, the French Minister expressed her country's readiness to continue to support cooperation with Tunisia and stand by it to confront the current economic challenges within the framework of an equal partnership.

On this occasion, the two ministers also renewed their keenness to schedule a meeting as soon as possible and to organize the fourth session of the Higher Council for Tunisian-French Cooperation in Paris during the year 2023.
