President Kais Saied of Tunisia instructed Mounir Ben Rejiba, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, to summon foreign ambassadors accredited in Tunisia on Wednesday. The purpose was to inform them of Tunisia's rejection of any form of interference in its internal affairs.
Saied referenced the preamble of the Tunisian Constitution, which asserts that the Tunisian people reject any external interference. He criticized certain foreign countries for what he described as blatant and unacceptable meddling in Tunisia's internal matters, emphasizing Tunisia's status as a sovereign and independent state.
In a video posted by the Presidency of the Republic, Saied pointed out that Tunisia did not interfere when these countries arrested protesters for criticizing their own governments or denouncing the genocidal war against the Palestinian people.
Saied instructed the Secretary of State to convey that Tunisia is not "worried" by those expressing concern over its affairs, asserting that Tunisian sovereignty is a tangible reality, not merely a declaration. He stressed that the law and Tunisia's legal framework are clear on this matter.
