Ennahdha confirmed on Thursday, September 21, 2023, the arrest of Vice President Mondher Ounissi.

This "political arrest" demonstrates the intention of the power in place to sue opponents and practice political repression.

Mondher Ounissi was apprehended on September 5 and brought before the Judicial Counter-Terrorism Division. His arrest follows the case of leaked recordings posted on social media.

The party called for the release of all "political detainees" in a statement issued at the end of its executive committee meeting.
