Today, Friday, May 20, the Iraqi Ministry of Culture announced the death of the great poet Muzaffar Al-Nawab in the Emirates.

The Director General of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Aref Al-Saadi, told the Iraqi News Agency, "The poet died in the Sharjah Teaching Hospital in the Emirates."

Muzaffar Al-Nawab is often known as the "revolutionary poet". His poetry is replete with Arab and international revolutionary symbols. He used his work to incite public emotions against repressive regimes, political corruption and injustice. His language was harsh, with occasional use of profanity.
