The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad stated that on December 2, 2022, the Minister Othman Jerandi received, at the ministry headquarters, the Director General of the Arab Atomic Energy Agency (AAEA) who gave the Minister an overview of the Agency's work program for the coming period, reviewing its various tasks, activities and partnerships.

The meeting was an occasion to emphasize the importance of the role of this Arab institution in coordinating the efforts of its member states in the field of producing atomic energy for peaceful purposes and supporting joint Arab scientific work.

The Minister discussed with the Director General of the Arab Atomic Energy Agency the importance of developing areas of peaceful use of atomic energy, especially with regard to electricity production, achieving energy transition, and ensuring water security through water desalination technology.

On the occasion, Othman Jerandi expressed Tunisia's support for the work of this agency, which is based in our country, and its willingness to further strengthen cooperation with it as a leading Arab scientific institution.
