The Ministry Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad stated that the Minister, Nabil Ammar, met today, May 9, 2023, at the ministry’s headquarters, with the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea and Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Busan, PARK Heong-Joon, who handed him a personal letter, addressed to the President of the Republic from his Korean counterpart.
During this meeting, the Tunisian Minister highlighted the excellent relations between Tunisia and the Republic of Korea, stressing Tunisia’s aspiration to further develop and diversify the fields of bilateral cooperation.
The Minister also welcomed the success of the second Session of the Tunisian-Korean-African Business Forum hosted in Tunis on May 8 and 9, 2023, recommending to keep the regularity of this event. He also thanked Korea's valuable support to Tunisia’s national development efforts.
From his side, the Korean Special Envoy praised the strong historical relations between Korea and Tunisia, expressing his satisfaction with the level of friendship and cooperation reached between the two countries and their promising prospects, either on the bilateral or tripartite levels (Tunisia-Korea-Africa), stressing the need to continue to organize joint economic events on annual basis.
Furthermore, the Korean Special Envoy pointed out that the African continent and the tripartite cooperation between Tunisia, Korea and Africa are among the priorities of the Korean government's program for the coming period in the perspectives of its preparations to organize the Korea-Africa Summit in 2024.
Park Heong-Joon is visiting Tunisia as the head of a large delegation of Korean officials and businessmen participating in the second session of the Tunisia-Korea-Africa Economic Forum.
