Tourism Minister Discusses Enhancing Cooperation with Swedish Ambassador

The Tunisian Ministry of Tourism stated that the Minister, Mohamed El-Moez Belhussein, received yesterday, Wednesday, at the ministry’s headquarters, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Tunis, Anna Block Mazoyer.

The meeting was an opportunity to reaffirm the solid bilateral cooperation between Tunisia and Sweden and to explore optimal ways to enhance collaboration in the fields of tourism and traditional industries, as well as to create new partnership opportunities that serve the interests of both countries, particularly considering Sweden's presidency of the European Union.

The discussion also reviewed the key milestones of the planned bilateral cooperation to strengthen collaboration in various areas, such as Sweden’s contribution to the development of traditional industries within the framework of the Women's Empowerment Program.

She highlighted the importance of enhancing air connectivity between the two countries and the need to support "open skies" to facilitate the development of tourism flow from Sweden and other European countries.

In this context, the Ambassador emphasized the utmost importance of the resumption of direct flights between Tunisia and the Swedish capital, Stockholm, which will be provided by Nouvelair starting from June 19, 2023.

For his part, the Tunisian Minister affirmed the excellent relations between the two friendly countries and praised the decision to resume the direct air route with Tunisia, which will contribute to the development of the number of Swedish tourists visiting Tunisia, both in the summer and winter seasons.
