Tunisian-Canadian cooperation in higher education and scientific research, student and researcher mobility, employability and entrepreneurship were at the heart of a talk which took place yesterday, Thursday, between the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Moncef Boukthir, and the Ambassador of Canada, Lorraine Diguer, according to a statement by the Ministry of Scientific Research and Scientific Research.
The two sides praised the success of “the Education for Employment Tunisia Al-Najah program”, a four-year project (2019-2023) funded by the Canadian government, delivered on its targets of increased employability for girls in particular, and the integration of innovative pedagogical approaches.
The CAD$5.2 million project was also designed to support the country's network of higher institutes of technology studies to improve co-developed training opportunities and increase the employability of graduates, added the Tunisian Ministry.
Tunisia and Canada, Boukthir and Diguer said, seek scaled- up cooperation to promote the culture of entrepreneurship in higher education institutions.
The Canadian Ambassador also laid emphasis, in this connection, on the key role of women in the sector of higher education and scientific research.
The two officials discussed the joint program to fund Tunisia-Quebec scientific research projects, university cooperation, student mobility and mutual degree recognition.
