The current state of economic relations between Tunisia and the United States, as well as the prospects for their development, were the focus of a meeting held this Monday morning, March 18, 2024, between the Minister of Trade and Export Development Kalthoum Ben Rajeb Qazah and the US Ambassador to Tunisia, Joey Hood.

The meeting addressed the cooperation between the two countries and the mutual commitment to further enhance and support it, along with elevating the levels of trade relations.

Minister of Trade emphasized the necessity of facilitating access for high-quality Tunisian products to the American markets, increasing the pace of trade exchanges between the two countries, discussing mechanisms for mutual cooperation, and exploring export and investment opportunities for both sides in the agriculture, food industries, and traditional sectors.

For his part, the US Ambassador highlighted his country's readiness to further advance bilateral cooperation and looked forward to enhancing it in various areas, in addition to supporting active institutions in different fields and promoting their products in the American market, particularly those engaged in traditional industries.

He also pointed out the role of American companies in Tunisia in strengthening commercial relations and promoting investment programs.
