The process of rectification of the democratic experience in Tunisia was at the heart of the meeting held yesterday evening between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi and the chargée d'affaires of the US Embassy in Tunis, Natasha Franceschi, at the Ministry Headquarters.
During this meeting, the two sides talked about the importance of stepping up consultations between the two countries in the context of a "positive and constructive dialogue that reflects the strength of bilateral relations," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad, said in a statement on Monday.
Jerandi welcomed the "strong" ties between the two countries, stressing Tunisia's willingness to further consolidate bilateral cooperation in all areas.
The next bilateral events, including the meeting of the Tunisia-American Joint Military Commission were also discussed at the meeting, according to the same statement.
The American diplomat stressed her country's willingness to push towards the development of the Tunisian-US partnership in all sectors.
Franceschi has also talked about her country's initiative to host the US-Africa Leaders Summit scheduled for December 13 to 15, 2022 in Washington, under the auspices of US President Joe Biden.
