The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians abroad stated that the Minister Nabil Ammar received today, morning, at the ministry's headquarters, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sameh Shoukry, on the occasion of his working visit to Tunisia.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister noted the strategic historical relations and strong brotherly ties that unite Tunisia and Egypt, stressing our country's keenness to further strengthen and promote them to the highest ranks in regard to the enormous potentials available in the two countries in the context of integration, especially in light of the emerging challenges.
From his side, the Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed the long-standing relations that unite the two brotherly countries and peoples and the dynamism that have enabled to give new impetus to various aspects of bilateral cooperation, and called for the importance of enriching and expanding it.
The visit was an occasion during which the two ministers chaired the work of the 15th session of the Political Consultation Committee, in the presence of the delegations of the two countries, during which they reviewed the overall bilateral relations and conducted a comprehensive assessment of areas of cooperation. In this context, the two ministers called for the importance of accelerating the implementation of what was agreed upon during the Joint Higher Committee held in Tunisia in May 2022, and encouraging the format of holding ministerial, sectoral and technical committees. They also expressed their satisfaction with the results achieved in a number of areas of cooperation, calling for making its mechanisms more efficient and cost-effective, and overcoming the obstacles facing it.
The committee also represented an opportunity to review issues of common interest and the latest regional and international developments, stated the ministry.
