The Presidency of the Republic of Tunisia stated that the President, Kais Saied, received this morning, in Carthage Palace the German Minister of the Interior, Nancy Faeser, and the French Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmanin.

The meeting dealt with the strong and strategic cooperation and partnership between Tunisia and the European Union in various fields, as well as the mutual commitment to enhancing and developing them towards broader horizons and new visions.

During the meeting, President Saied emphasized that Tunisia will never accept being the guardian of any other country's borders, nor will it accept the settlement of migrants within its territory, the Presidency added in the same statement.

Furthermore, the President reiterated his position on the need for a new approach to address irregular migration, which focuses on eliminating the root causes rather than attempting to deal with the consequences. He called for concerted efforts to put an end to this unnatural and inhuman phenomenon.
