On the occasion of his participation in the works of the 116th session of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) held in Jeddah, the Tunisian Minister of Tourism, Mr.Mohamed Moez Belhussein, had today June 9, 2022, a working session with his counterpart the Algerian Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Mr.Yassin Hamadi, with the presence of their ambassadors and the accompanied delegations.
During this meeting today, June 9, 2022, , the two ministers praised the level of the existing cooperation relations in the field of tourism between the two countries, and they have agreed to further supporting them by the implementation of joint projects in the field of hotel training and tourism.
With regard to the tourist flow between Tunisia and Algeria, the two ministers agreed to work with the civil aviation in order to increase the number of charter flights between their countries from several airports, as well as to establish a maritime line and support tourist cruises departing from the port of La Goulette to Algeria.
The two ministers also reviewed the legal framework for encouraging and diversifying tourism investment by bringing together the professionals of the two countries.
From his part, the Algerian Minister stated that his country intends to enlarge its air fleet through the acquisition of 16 new planes.
The two ministers also recommended the necessity of strengthening cooperation in the field of traditional industries and mutual participation in exhibitions held either in one the two countries or abroad.
Mr.Mohamed Moez Belhussein also briefed his Algerian counterpart on the upcoming events that Tunisia is preparing for, like the Francophone Summit and the Ticad8.
