National coast guard units thwarted six irregular immigration attempts and rescued 179 irregular immigrants from shipwreck on Sunday night, said the spokesperson for the National Guard Houssemeddine Jebabli.

Coast guard units in Mahdia, Sfax and Kerkennah thwarted 5 irregular immigration operations and rescued 142 migrants, including 137 sub-Saharan Africans, he added.
