Yesterday, Thursday, March 31, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi made a fraternal working visit to the People’ Democratic Republic of Algeria, and that under the permanent consultation and coordination between the two brotherly countries.

During this visit, Jerandi conveyed a verbal message from the President of the Republic of Tunisia, Kais Saied, to the President of the People’ Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmajid Tebboune, regarding bilateral relations and ways to raise them to the level of a solid strategic partnership, in accordance with the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

It was also about the preparation of the upcoming Joint High Tunisian-Algerian Committee.

With the Algerian President, Jerandi also discussed the various current regional and international issues and the resulting challenges that require more concerted efforts to confront them.

This working visit was also an opportunity during which the Tunisian Minister met with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, during which they stressed the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation and broaden its horizons.

The two ministers also exchanged views on the most important issues of common concern at the regional and international levels, and the necessity of coordinating positions on them.
