
Algeria will always stand by Tunisia
During his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi, on the fringes of the African Union Extraordinary Summit held on May 27-28 in Malabo (Equatorial Guinea), the Algerian Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra, said that Algeria will always stand by Tunisia which has always been a support for Algeria, considering the two countries' past, present, future and shared destiny.
Lamamra pointed out during this meeting the shared willingness of the Presidents Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Kais Saied to further foster bilateral relations in all areas.
Jerandi commended for his part, the convergence of views on the various issues at the regional and international scenes in this political, economic and security situation, during which the challenges have multiplied and become more complex, which requires more gathered efforts, the same source said.
The two ministers reviewed the points on the agenda of the summit, with regard to the challenges facing the African Continent, notably the management of humanitarian crises and counter terrorism and violent extremism.
The meeting also focused on the holding of the Higher Joint Tunisian-Algerian Committee and the participation of the two countries in the next regional and international meetings.
The two ministers also praised the strong bilateral relations existing between between the two brotherly countries.
