Calls for a general strike in the public sector & public employment
The Public Employment Assembly in the Tunisian General Labor Union discussed today, Friday, March 18, 2022, the negative repercussions of Circular 20, which caused many problems and closed the door to social dialogue and negotiations, according to what was reported by the Echaab News website.
The same source said that the interventions ranged between a proposal to call for a general strike in the public sector and public employment, and the implementation of collective protest movements to demand the withdrawal of the implementation of what was stated in the February 6, 2021 agreement.
Most of the attendees also agreed on a proposal to raise a complaint to the International Labor Organization about what they considered to be injustice on the union.
It is expected that the members of the Assembly will submit all the proposals to the National Administrative Institution which will convene soon and take the appropriate decisions, according to the same source.
