Chinese President Xi Jinping called for a "wide-ranging, more reliable, and effective" peace conference to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

He emphasized that the Middle East is a region with vast development prospects, and where justice should prevail.

Xi made these remarks during a speech at the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum held in Beijing on Thursday.

The Chinese President also announced that Beijing will donate $3 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to provide urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza. Additionally, China supports Palestine in obtaining full membership in the United Nations.
