In his inauguration to the Shura Council's Ordinary Session, the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said that Since Qatar won the honor of hosting the World Cup 2022, it has been subjected to “an unprecedented campaign” that no host country has ever faced.

He pointed out that despite all, Qatar dealt with the matter in good faith, and even considered some of the criticism as positive and useful, because it is aware of the importance of hosting a major event such as the World Cup in the Arab world.

“This is a great test for a country the size of Qatar that impresses the whole world with what it has already achieved and is achieving”, the Amir said.
