Hamza Yusuf: Scotland’s first Muslim Immigrant Prime Minister
Following his victory in the SNP leadership race yesterday Monday, Humza Yousuf has been confirmed as Scotland's new first minister after a vote held today, March 28, 2023, in the Scottish Parliament.
Mr. Yousuf, who succeeds Nicola Sturgeon, is the country's sixth first minister and first from an ethnic minority background.
He is also the youngest first minister at 37, and the first Muslim from Pakistani origin to lead a major UK party.
