In an exclusive interview: Zelenskyy talks about the war
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, in an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, that if the Ukrainian forces cannot repel the attack in Donbass, it will be possible that the Russian forces return to attack the capital Kyiv again.
He also stressed that the Russian failed to enter the capital and control the rest of Ukraine “thanks to the will of the Ukrainians,” according to him.
He said: “if the Russians were able to control all of our lands, they would have done so, but they failed,” and he confirmed that the war was not over yet because many Ukrainian regions are occupied by Russia.
The Ukrainian President saw that negotiation is the only way to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine, although it is proceeding slowly and there is no result from it yet.
During this interview, Zelenskyy expressed his regret for his country’s abandonment of its nuclear arsenal, saying that this weakened Ukraine, but stressed that his country is not seeking to obtain a nuclear weapon.
