The Tunisia-Africa Business Council (TABC), on Monday, announced the holding of the first edition of the Tunisian-Libyan trade and industry development fair in Misrata, Libya from January 16 to 18, 2023.

This fair aims to cement partnership between the two countries and pave the way for accessing African markets, TABC said.

The initiative follows an agreement signed between the TABC and the Misrata Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, at the 4th Tunisian-Libyan business forum held on October 13, 2022 in Sfax.

This event aspires to improve the position of Tunisian companies within the Misrata free trade zone, in order to access African markets, President of the TABC Anis Jaziri told TAP on Monday.

Several companies, investors and traders from Tunisia and Libya will take part in this exhibition.

The trade volume between Tunisia and Libya has recovered, jumping from 900 MD in 2018 to over 2,030 MD in 2022.

It rose to more than 2,000 MD in the first eight months of the current year. However, this remains below the pre-2011 trade volume, which exceeded the 3,500 MD mark, according to Jaziri.
