The Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi, affirmed that the efforts made by the occupation forces today to impose the division of the holy places in occupied Palestine is only a new episode in the accelerated settlement and Judaization policy, in order to change the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque and impose this change by force, and make it a reality.

This was in his speech before the Arab Ministerial Committee in charge of international action to confront illegal Israeli policies and measures in the occupied city of Jerusalem, at its emergency meeting held today, April 21, 2022, in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Jerandi stressed the need for the international community to realize the danger of these condemned endeavors by all standards, which mainly aim to change the essence of the Palestinian issue from a land and right issue to a religious conflict, stressing the need to have a single and united Arab voice rejecting such provocative policies, because their consequences are dire not only in Palestine or in the Arab region, but the entire world.

The Tunisian Minister called for the need to redouble and unify efforts in order to restore the Palestinian cause to the forefront of international public opinion, by drawing up an Arab communicative plan to mobilize international and popular support for the Palestinian right, considering that the status of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque concerns the Arabs, Muslims and Christians alike.

And he indicated that any silence about the Israeli attacks will weaken the Palestinian and the Arab position and will allow the occupation forces to persist in their blatant attacks and violations of our sanctities, and in the complete absence of accountability, taking advantage of the international situation and the prevailing crises.

In this context, the minister reiterated Tunisia's total rejection of continuing to deal with the international issues related to aggression and occupation on different scales, noting that in Palestine there are daily attacks as well, and there are grave violations of human rights documented in international reports by the United Nations and the Human Rights Council that require the attention of the international community and deserve to be at the forefront of the concerns of the Security Council, the General Assembly and all the bodies of the international community, and it deserves an international donation to stop the bleeding of continuous suffering for 74 years because it is an issue of right and a daily test for this world.
