
Joint meeting of Tunisian and Algerian Foreign Ministers held in Tunis
As part of his visit to Tunisia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, today, Friday, February 2, 2024, at the headquarters of the ministry.
This meeting was an opportunity to reaffirm the depth of fraternal ties and the cooperative relations existing between Tunisia and Algeria, stated the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.
The two Ministers affirmed the common determination of the two countries’ leaders to strengthen and further develop Tunisian-Algerian relations in various areas and to raise them to high levels.
They also highlighted the need to strengthen consultation and coordination on regional and international issues of common interest, particularly the Palestinian question. They reiterated their support for the brotherly Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights and stressed the need for an immediate and definitive cessation of the brutal and barbaric aggression against the Gaza Strip, added the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.
The two parties also discussed international issues and challenges in the region, especially fighting terrorism, the impact of irregular migration, and support to the development, security and stability on the African continent.
