July 15th: opening of the land borders between Tunisia and Algeria
The Algerian President, Abdelmajid Tebboune announced yesterday, July 5, 2022, the opening of the land borders between Tunisia and Algeria starting from July 15th.
This opening comes after a closure that lasted for two years, during which the borders were partially opened to the movements of goods and the residents only.
The Algerian President also expressed his hope that Tunisians will ratify their new constitution in the referendum scheduled for July 25th.
From his part, the Tunisian President praised the decision about opening the land borders stressing that Tunisia and Algeria are one people in one state.
