
Leaders of Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya stress the need to unify their positions and visions
The leaders of Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya convened for a consultative meeting yesterday in Tunis, emphasizing the importance of unifying their positions and visions.
They all agreed to elevate their bilateral relations to a higher level of collective cooperation beyond individual interests, according to the Tunisian Presidency.
Recognizing the regional challenges, they emphasized the necessity of collaboration for security, stability, and development, especially amid evolving international dynamics.
The three North-African leaders also affirmed their commitment to national sovereignty and mutual respect in international relations, rejecting foreign interference. Their collaboration extends beyond political matters to encompass economic and social development, prioritizing the well-being of their peoples.
Regarding Libya, they supported efforts for elections and denounced foreign intervention, advocating for neighbouring countries' support for stability and reconstruction. They condemned atrocities against Palestinians, calling for an end to aggression and the lifting of the Gaza siege, while affirming support for Palestinian statehood, according to the same source.
The leaders also addressed concerns in the Sahel-Saharan region, emphasizing African and Arab responsibility in conjunction with UN efforts.
They stressed the importance of combating terrorism, human trafficking, and organized crime through enhanced consultation and information exchange.
