Libya: Meeting with EU Officials on Border Security and Combating Illegal Migration
A meeting was held at the headquarters of the Libyan Department of International Relations and Cooperation between various components of the Ministry of Interior and a high-level delegation from the European Union Commission.
The Libyan side was headed by Major General Nour Al-Din Abu Bakr Abu Jurida, the Director of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation.
Attendees included representatives from internal security agencies, criminal investigation units, narcotics and psychotropic substances control, border guards, the General Administration of Training, the European Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Arab and International Criminal Police Office.
The meeting focused on ways to enhance cooperation to bolster Libyan security capabilities in securing borders and combating organized crime and illegal immigration
