More than 1,000 professional B2B meetings are expected to take place during the Tunisian-Libyan Economic Forum, which started today, March 6, 2023, and will last till tomorrow, under the theme "Tunisian-Libyan economic partnership and complementarity to access international markets", according to the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX).

The forum, attended by more than 200 companies, including more than 50 Tunisian companies, is organized by CEPEX in collaboration with the Tunisian Embassy in Tripoli and the Libyan Centre for Export Development.

It aims to lay the foundations for a comprehensive and integrated cooperation strategy, enabling both countries to explore the opportunities available to each other and to move together towards the markets of sub-Saharan Africa.

CEPEX and its Libyan counterpart have drawn up a joint promotional program for the period up to 2023.

Besides the Tunisian-Libyan Economic Forum, this program includes joint business missions between the two countries to three African countries, namely Senegal (October 2023), Côte d'Ivoire (November 2023) and Niger (December 2023).

Libya remains a strategic economic partner for Tunisia. Bilateral trade will exceed 3 billion dinars ($970 million) in 2022 (excluding trade in services), up 50% compared to 2021.

The two countries aim to increase their trade volume to more than $1.6 billion by the end of 2025.
