
Meeting Between Tunisian and Algerian Interior Ministers
A bilateral meeting was held between the Tunisian Minister of Interior, Kamal Feki, and his Algerian counterpart, Ibrahim Murad, attended by senior officials from both sides on Monday, January 29, 2024, in the Algerian capital, according to a statement by the Tunisian Interior Ministry.
The meeting was held on the occasion of organizing the first session of the bilateral committee for the development and promotion of the Tunisian-Algerian border regions.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the strength of the relationship between the two countries and their common history, said the Tunisian Interior Ministry.
The two ministers also noted the progress of bilateral cooperation and the necessity of elevating it to the level of the aspirations of both countries and peoples.
The meeting also focused on the importance of joint efforts to implement developmental projects in the border regions between the two neighbouring countries and to support cooperation in combating terrorism, organized crime, and addressing irregular migration, as well as facilitating the movement of travellers from both sides, according to the same source.
