
Minister of Interior : Djerba is ready for the tourist season
During his visit today, Tuesday, May 10, 2022, to the island of Djerba, the Minister of Interior, Taoufik Charfeddine, oversaw the security preparations and the readiness of Djerba to host the upcoming major events, foremost of which is the annual visit to El Ghriba Synagogue, in addition to the launch of the tourist season and the Francophone Summit next November.
In a media statement, Taoufik Charfeddine said : “everything is complete and the security preparations are excellent” according to TAP agency.
He pointed out that there is an important security positioning with high spirit that would reassure every visitor to Tunisia and send a message that Tunisia is not only a safe country, but a country of tolerance and coexistence as well, according to him.
He added that the island of Djerba will be a destination for more than one important event with major tourist, cultural and security dimensions, which requires giving it the importance it deserves, starting from the visit of El Ghriba, which is expected to take place this year on May 18, up to the hosting of the Francophone summit.
The minister began his visit by heading to Djerba-Zarzis International Airport, then to the port of Houmet Souk and El Ghriba Synagogue, in addition to inspecting some security stations that were established in the framework of the preparations made for the launch of the annual visit to El Ghriba.
