
Ministry of Finance, IMF: a meeting in the field of collection
Yesterday afternoon, Thursday, August 11, 2022, the Tunisian Minister of Finance; Siham Boughdiri Namsieh received at the headquarters of the Ministry, the expert at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), who is specialized in the field of collection policies, Patrick Petit.
This meeting follows a series of meetings held between the international expert and a number of officials concerned with collection at the Ministry of Finance, and with a number of economic actors and national organizations as well.
The international expert is on a working visit to Tunisia within the framework of the technical cooperation program between Tunisia and the International Monetary Fund to reform the fiscal system, which is included in the government's major reforms program.
In this context, the Minister of Finance expressed the Tunisian State's keenness to continue reforming the tax system and to put in place mechanisms to simplify the tax system, establish the principle of justice and generalize the digitization of services directed to those who are required to pay.
From his side, Petit stressed the Fund's commitment to support Tunisia in reforming the fiscal system, highlighting the importance of developing the fiscal system in order to improve the investment climate, develop state resources, and improve Tunisia's position on the international scene as an investment-attracting destination.
